25 Richest People of All Time:
Facebook COO and leaning advocate Sheryl Sandberg has parted with her very upright Atherton manse to the tune of $9.25M. Sandberg and her husband, SurveyMonkey CEO David Goldberg, first listed the property back in September 2013 for a slightly ritzier $10.499 million. After an unsuccessful few months on the market, the abode popped up again, only to take a pricechop down to $9.8M. The new buyers, perhaps applying some advice in persistence from someone or another, tipped the price down another $550K before sealing the deal. The home is a relatively recent arrival to the nation’s most expensive Zip code, having been built in 2004, the same year the Silicon Valley power couple set up house.
Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah has said farewell to the ‘burbs and purchased a home right here in the city. Noah had previously lived in a 5,500 square foot home in suburban Bannockburn, the Tribune reports, but upgraded to a seven bedroom, 7,500 square foot home in Lincoln Park this summer. The home is a fairly new construction, having been completed in 2009, and sports fancy finishes, custom millwork, and a rooftop deck space on top of the garage. The home hit the market in January for $3.45 million, but sold for $2.85 million. And perhaps Noah’s move to the city could signal a trend for other Bulls players, the Tribune’s Bob Goldsborough suggests, as the team’s new practice facility near United Center officially opened last month. Joakim Noah can officially be called one of the coolest dudes in Chicago, because well, he actually lives in Chicago now.
