Madonna in 2014 - The "Unapologetic Bitch"
Madonna in 2014 – The “Unapologetic Bitch”

By: Dave Gordon

Being my first story on, I decided to write about a subject that I not only know a lot about, but one that most people still have interest in, and that’s the Queen Of Pop, Madonna. We’re waiting for her to unveil her first single from her as-of-yet untitled 13th studio album in December with an album release in the beginning of 2015. According to producer Diplo, the first single was sent in for final touches back in September and currently they’re looking for a producer to finish up any final touches, according to Madonna’s manager, Guy Oseary. The new album looks to be a big departure from 2012’s MDNA as it looks to be a much more maturely crafted album. First off, unlike MDNA, Madonna and her vast amount of producers have spent nearly a year working tirelessly writing up to over 40 songs (that we know of), has been teasing us on Instagram with song titles, lyrics, and even small clips that included a choir and an orchestra, and also pictures throughout the year of her in the studio with her producers. Looks like she had a very productive and fun year. With that said, it seems that this isn’t a rushed album (MDNA was made quickly while she was also working on a her film W.E., working on her Material Girl clothing line with daughter Lourdes, and working on perfume lines) so I believe this is going to be much better than anything she’s done since 2006’s Confessions On A Dancefloor. Her last 2 studio albums (2008’s Hard Candy and MDNA), and singles from her Celebration greatest hits album were merely consisted with tracks that sounded like she was trying too hard to make it on the radio up against 20 year olds. I’m sorry but tracks like Revolver, Candy Shop, Spanish Lesson, Girl Gone Wild, Give Me All Your Luvin’, and Superstar were somewhat ridiculous for a 40/ 50-some year old to be singing and taken seriously. The MDNA tracks produced by her longtime producer William Orbit (Ray Of Light) were the only tracks that could be taken seriously (Golden Globe winning Masterpiece, Love Spent, Falling Free, I’m A Sinner, Some Girls, and fan-favorite Gang Bang) along with the Banassi brothers produced I’m Addicted. But overall the album was lacking and had William Orbit taken the reigns like he did with 1998’s Ray Of Light, the album could have been a true success beyond it’s release being the year’s biggest first week release. The single choices alone were awful.

Now, back to the new album (rumored to be titled Rebel Heart or Unapologetic Bitch), Madonna has always had a way to stay on top, find great producers, and come out on top. I’m thinking with her selection of producers (Diplo, Avicci, Natalia Kills, Blood Diamonds, Mozella, Ariel Rechtsheid, MNEK, and Martin Kierszenbaum, to name a few, and sadly it seems William Orbit has little to nothing to do with the new album) she is going to give us a stunning collection of song ranging from ballads to creative dance tracks that range into a place Madonna seems to know well and still come off a new and different. According to many Madonna sites, we have some info on some of the tracks. Ill list them here (source

Addicted/The One That Got Away
This mid-tempo track includes both the electric and acoustic guitar on a totally infectious electro beat. Madonna/Avicii
Autotune Baby
A catchy tune, collaboration with Diplo.
It starts off with the sound of a crying baby and a rattle, which slowly gets autotuned creating the base sample for the rest of the song, until Madonna starts singing.
Beautiful Scars
A sweet mid-tempo song. This is a cool pop song about the beauty of being imperfect.
Bitch, I’m Madonna
Madonna’s work with Diplo. A trap/electro pop.
Body Shop
Madonna/Toby/Mozella/S1 sessions with Natalia Kills and Martin Kierszenbaum
Devil Prays
A 70ies country folk, in the most delightful way. It has a kind of “Woodstock festival” era feel to it, but still remains very modern.
Holy Water
Penned by Madonna, Martin Kierszenbaum and Natalia Kills, “Holy Water” is basically a shameless song about enjoying the pleasures of oral sex on the receiving end.
Madonna/Toby/Mozella/S1 sessions with Natalia Kills and Martin Kierszenbaum and co-produced by DJ Dahi and Blood Diamonds
This song is a mix of various styles and can best be described as acoustic meets electronic.
Co-penned by Toby, Mozella and S1.
Heartbreak City
Said to be one of the most beautiful tracks she’s ever written
Hold Tight
Written with Diplo
Inside Out
Joan of Ark
Madonna/Toby/Mozella/S1 sessions with Natalia Kills and Martin Kierszenbaum
Living for Love/Carry On
A snappy track about the sanctity of survival, using a luminescent collection of escalating 90s influenced tempos. Madonna/Diplo
Rebel Heart
A catchy beat and prominent acoustic guitar sound, the mid-tempo produced by Avicii.
Written with Natalie Kills
Written with Natalia Kills
Trust No Bitch
Written with Natalia Kills
Two Steps Behind
Written with Avicci
Unapologetic Bitch
The reggae-influenced track has a strong statement about Madonna taking responsibility for being considered a bitch because sometimes you have to call it like it is.
Veni Vedi Vici
Wash all over me

Here’s a few tracks that little is known about:

Love Your From The Inside Out

Never The Bride (unsure if this is real)

On and On (unsure if this is real)

No Time To Waste (unsure if this is real)

Borrowed Time

Sorry (Not Sorry) (unsure if this is real)
If you’re anything like me, I’m sure you’re counting down the days till December 13th when she performs on UK’s X Factor, Simon Cowels singing talent show. I’m sure she’s using that as a platform for her new single (rumored to be titled Inside Out) and I’m sure the ratings will be through the roof! Just look at the ratings for her Superbowl halftime show. They were the highest rated, even beating out the following year’s act, Beyonce. So, stay tuned for more info on this story as it’s progresses. I’m sure there’s plenty of news coming on Madonna coming these next few months! Hopefully Gaga and her “Little Monsters”don’t feel too cheated if this new album puts “Artpop” to shame….oh wait, “Artpop” already put “Artpop” to shame….hmmm…sad.

Side note, the top picture was uploaded by Madonna but it’s confirmed that it’s fan-made. Also, an interesting side-note for you all, I dated Madonna’s brother Christopher over a year ago, and I met his family. They’re a lovely family and their vineyard in upper Michigan is beyond gorgeous! If you get a chance, check it out if you’re ever in the midwest! It’s called Ciccone Vineyard. Beautiful beyond words, and if you get a chance say hi to Madonna’s dad (Tony) and step-mom (Joan). They’re hilarious, down-to-earth, kind, and very humble people.
