A mystery man pulls Mathew Sitko from his SUV as it teeters over a 30-foot drop onto the Bryden Canyon Road in Lewiston, Idaho, on Wednesday.
A mystery good Samaritan bravely dragged a man from his car as it teetered dangerously on the edge of an Idaho cliff.

Mathew Sitko was driving near the Bryden Canyon in Lewiston at 8 a.m. Wednesday when he suddenly lost control of his vehicle, reports the Lewiston Tribune.

He careened through a yard and over two terraces, before finally coming to a halt after hitting a chain-link fence.

The railing miraculously stopped his car from toppling into the canyon below.

Sitko, 23, was stuck inside his 2000 GMC Yukon when the mystery man suddenly appeared.

He smashed the window with a rock and pulled Sitko out, before hauling him further up to safety. But he disappeared once police and paramedics arrived.

“He said he had to go, and he left,” Lewiston police officer Eric Olson told the Tribune.

Sitko was rushed to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, where doctors treated him for his minor injuries.

“Investigation showed some type of mental episode may have been responsible for the collision,” added Olson.

Police continue to investigate the incident.
